Paper Cocoon Pavilion

Pavilion | 2024

A space that shifts with you. This installation challenges the permanence of enclosures, using delicate materials to shape an architecture that is fluid, ephemeral, and alive.

Stitched together into suspended panels, paper forms an enclosure that isn’t fixed but flexible. The fire-scorched edges mark a threshold, a deliberate contrast between material softness and elemental force.
Unlike walls that resist, this pavilion yields. The paper panels move with the slightest disturbance—swaying, shifting, adjusting to those who pass through. This interaction isn’t passive; it’s integral to the design. It ensures the space is never static.

Here, space is defined not by separation, but by the delicate interplay of enclosure and permeability. The gaps between panels create fleeting thresholds—one moment, you’re within, the next, the boundaries dissolve. It creates both shelter and passage, always in flux.
