Surat

 

The house of four floors is on a very narrow plan with a surrounding setting of the old city of Surat. With abutting old houses, the clients were extremely keen on having something contemporary and very modern. 

 

The narrow frontage being the only facade, with projecting balconies on each floor, the idea was to connect them subtly by a faceted surface. This surface acts as the facade, the windows as well as the balcony railings. 

 

The formal expression of this surface is treated with strips of bent metal plates allowing air, light and view.
